The main part of my revision process was my three global changes. The first one was how I needed to summarize the main points of my paragraphs. For example, a few of my paragraphs ended with a sentence that just flowed with the paragraph. After a helpful tip from a classmate a summarized the ending of my paragraphs, I was able to summarize my paragraph about Waldinger stating that, “The biggest lesson learned from this study is that good relationships lead to a happier life.” My next global change was following Barclay’s Formula template in Part 1 of Emerging, this was Professor Pahigian’s tip to my paper. This allowed me to introduce my paragraphs with my own claim opposed to the authors claims. Also, when speaking of the author, I was reminded that I needed to introduce my quotes. My final global change was another tip offered by Professor Pahigian. He showed me that I need to emphasize the difference between my belief system and the authors belief systems. I went from saying how my argument is near the same as theirs to depicting what differs from most of the authors texts and talks. My first draft was about 4.5 pages of mediocre writing. Going through the revision process for my final paper, made me confident in my work because I was able to fix awkward sentences, correct my grammar, and systemically set it up correctly so it flowed well and followed all of the guidelines.
